City University of Hong Kong - Hong Kong



City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is a public research university located in Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong. CityU was originally founded in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and became a fully accredited university later in 1994.

CityU offers more than 130 Bachelor degree programs within six schools and colleges, including Business, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, Creative Media, Energy and Environment, and Law. 

The 3 colleges of Business, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Sciences and Engineering, and the 3 schools of Law, Creative Media and Energy and Environment offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Postgraduate studies are offered through the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies.

CityU has been regarded by several major university rankings to be among the top five higher education institutions in Hong Kong. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2012 - 13) regarded it 182nd globally and 19th in Asia, and 4th in the city.
